Reflections from a Random Gamer: Top 5 Amazing Features of the New Xbox Experience
Last week you read while I picked through the failures of the New Xbox Experience. I found it amusing to read your comments because many of you thought that I owned either a Wii or a Playstation 3. Just to inform you, I have never owned either of those consoles. Also, many of you overlooked that I was an Xbox virgin in terms of ownership and read it as I have never played on Xbox, which was entirely untrue. I have spent numerous hours as the drummer for Rock Band, and have some substantial experience with both CoD4 and Halo3.
I want to also thank everyone who commented about ripping games to the HD in order to keep the drive quieter. That is a point well taken and one that I had not realized because I had yet to have tried that feature.
This week I want to leave you with a list of 5 things that I see as amazing on the New Xbox Experience. Maybe you won’t agree again, or maybe you will have more things to add to list. Feel free to yet again comment and add what you think are the most amazing parts.
5. My Xbox. It lets you easily see every game you have played as well as your stats for each. It also allows you to easily find downloads that are related to the game.
4. Inside Xbox. It offers free video clips from the man we all know and respect, Major Nelson.
3. Marketplace appears to be more easily navigable. This is what some people tell me, I have not used it much. Flipping through it does appear to be pretty easy.
2. The graphics are stellar. This one explains itself.
1. NETFLIX! I can’t see why this would be a bad thing. You can update your lists on your computer, which is probably sitting right near your xbox, and then turn and play a movie streamed through it.
Gamers, I hope you think this list is reasonable. Also, have no fear, next week will not be more about the NXE. I’m moving on.
Game on!
