Dammit Game of the Week: Asteroids Revenge 3
If you’re a true gamer, even if you’re young, you’ve played the classic Asteroids game. Just to stick in a random quote from my favorite TV show of all time “Tell that to the brave men of the SS Triangle”. (You’re truly a fan if you know where that quote is from). In the game, you blow up the seemingly menacing asteroids. Well, now it’s payback biatch.
The whole object of the game is to kill all the little ships (or mines) before they kill you. Sadly, the ships aren’t just triangles, but that’s what happens when graphics get better. Powerups make improvements to your asteroid allowing you to become faster, stronger, bigger, or multiple. You can go from one asteroid to multiple asteroids to inflict more damage faster OR you can become a massive asteroid and take out everything in your path.
The controls are mappable, but are defaulted to the arrow keys (or the WASD) or mouse movements to move the asteroid. Once you get some allies, you can also control them. Move them closer or further away using the mouse wheel or z and x respectively. You can also release your allies (using the left mouse button or c) to wreck havoc on the jerks shooting at you or the mines… Mines hurt… bad…
So go out there and take some revenge for the poor Asteroids who have been abused for so long.
