Upcoming: All-Nighter Edition
As seems to always be the case, this weekend was one unlike any other. What was supposed to be the celebration of my wife’s birthday, turned into a memorial for a good friend. An elderly woman who had attended my church congregation growing up and happened to be a personal friend of mine, passed away over the weekend. Unfortunately, the funeral fell on my wife’s birthday, and thus the course of the weekend was altered drastically. It once again reminds me how fragile life is and how important it can be to make every minute count. Donna, if you can hear me, I just wanted to give you one last hug… You’ll be missed.
On a more positive note, I was able to ring in my wife’s birthday with an intimate fondue experience for two. We both had a grand old time, but that will not replace the special party that we had planned for her. I guess all we can say is better luck next year. Trust me, it is easy to say, but won’t help ease the disappointment that I know she was feeling.
Damn, two downers in a row, so I guess I should get onto the whole gaming thing. This last week has been dominated by gaming binges of the very best variety, the “all-nighter.” These events allowed me to power through both Street Fighter IV and Killzone 2 on their respective nights. This should provide the necessary material for at least a couple of weeks worth of reviews. Thanks for being patient and waiting for it!
This week brings about a very highly anticipated release of the week, but I guess I won’t spoil GreedyRaven’s surprise. Along with that will hopefully be a review of The Watchmen from PriestBeast. In a special investigative feature from Reluctant_Gamer, we will get the chance to learn more about the appearance of video games in United State libraries. Wrapping up the week we will also get to hear from AndyGoes, Ammonator and Jimmy The Greek with mystery columns. By the way, I have not disappeared off the face of the map, but my lack of a review the last two weeks will be made up for by having both my review of Flower and Killzone 2 go live this week.
Things are going to be jam packed full of outstanding material, so enjoy. Oh, and please do me a favor, the next time you have the opportunity to give a loved one a hug, don’t pass it up.
Take care and have a great week.
